BRAMPTON- There’s a new business in Brampton that hasn’t officially opened- yet people are already stopping by.

Daniel and Renata Lewis have known each other since they were eight years old. Now they’re not only partners in life but business partners as well – a tea business.

On Thursday Daniel will celebrate the grand opening of his store, his 26th birthday and a celebration of how far he’s come.

“This has been quite the journey,” Daniel Lewis, Co-owner of T By Daniel said.

“I went through a tragic moment in my life where I was actually a victim of a stabbing. I was stabbed five times,” he said.

“Sitting in the hospital bed, I was faced with two choices. Do I revenge the person who tried to take my life? Or do I turn that around, forgive him, and just help people not to be in that situation? I chose the latter.”

But he didn’t do it alone.

“Job skills is a not-for-profit organization and we deliver business service programs,” Catherine Turner, Director of Business Services and Programs at Job Skills said.

“Everybody comes in with a business idea, but he knew what he really, really wanted to do, but was looking for direction,” she said.

“He’s opened this wonderful location, seven months ahead of schedule. He is T By Daniel. He lives it, eats it, breathes it and sleeps it – and everybody, everybody can see that,” Turner said.
